Special features of the Vehicle Single Status Window:
Double-clicking a map name in the status window’s map list will bring that map to the top of your window stack.
Double-clicking an open advisory’s name in the status advisory list will bring that advisory’s window to the top of your window stack.
Fields displayed in the single status window are:
The current Date/Time is displayed for the last updated report from the vehicle. This is a local
PC date/time calculation. This is the local date/time that the last report came
in (not the GPS date/time of the update).
The Mode field is for displaying whether it is a GPS report or a Playback file.
The Date field is for displaying the actual date of the vehicle report received from
the GPS.
The Time field is for displaying the actual time of the vehicle report received from
the GPS.
The current Latitude and Longitude position is displayed according to the Lat/Lon Format setting in System
Options dialog.
The UTM (Universal Transverse Mercator) position can also be displayed. If UTM is
not selected, then the street name (if available) will be displayed.
The Course is displayed as received from the vehicle unit's GPS receiver. That is, if
the GPS data is in magnetic course form, it will be displayed as magnetic course.
The Speed is displayed in a format consistent with your Distance Units setting in the
System Options dialog.
The Altitude is displayed only if present in the incoming data. Altitude is formatted
according to the Distance Units setting in the System Options dialog (either
miles/feet or kilometers/meters).
The Rx System field displays the last radio system (if available from the radio) that the
mobile unit (vehicle) reported on. This is only available for applications that
report which system the radio was on.
The accumulated Distance is the sum of the distances between every pair of adjacent Latitude/Longitude
points on a vehicle's route. Its format is determined by the Distance Units
setting in the Tools… Options…System… System dialog.
The Event field displays the last event ID for this vehicle.
The GPS state field displays the condition of the GPS fix. This field tells whether
or not the latest GPS report is valid. It also indicates if DGPS (differential
GPS) or dead reckoning is being used.
The Input state code field displays the state of the vehicle input conditions. This
field is variable and changes as vehicle inputs change. It can contain
information such as: Engine On, Door Open, Lift Up, Lights Off, etc... Go to Tools...Options...System...
Format tab and click the 'Vehicle Input Labels...' button to set up the input labels.
The Number of Sats field displays satellite usage information. The display format depends on
the data interface format used. Depending on the reporting format, this field
may or may not be available.
The Dilution of Precision (DOP) is a "quality" measure of the accuracy of the vehicle location reports.
DOP values are displayed only if supplied by the vehicle's GPS receiver.
This field is used to display horizontal dilution of precision (HDOP) estimates.
Depending on your vehicles' GPS hardware and/or interfaces, you may or may not
get HDOP updates.
The Playback Speed Factor and playback time are displayed only if the vehicle track is coming from a
recorder file. Otherwise, the GPS Satellite Time is displayed. This field also
tells if there is a valid location for GPS updates (if not it displays NO
LOCATION).
The Recording Filename shows the current destination recorder file name (if you’re recording the vehicle track)
for the vehicle. If it displays "Recording…",
then the recording file hasn’t been created yet (as soon as the next vehicle update comes in, a file name
will be displayed).
The Maps list is a list of all maps in the database which contain the vehicle's
current geographic position. You can cause a desired map to become visible by simply
double-clicking that map in the map list.
The Advisories list is a list of all advisories in the database which contain the vehicle's
current geographic position. You can cause a desired advisory window to become
visible by simply double-clicking that advisory in the advisory list.
Note: Depending on the reporting scheme of your mobile hardware, some fields
in the status window may not be present. If a particular field is grayed out
(not in black text), that field was present in a previous update but not in the
latest update.
